GRUBER Logistics wanted to make its own contribution to a project with strong local resonance: the Bunker Museum in Dobbiaco. Located right next to the state road between San Candido and Dobbiaco, this is the only one of the more than 350 bunke<\/sup>rs built in South Tyrol to have been converted into a museum dedicated to what was, until recently, a “closed” border. Ove<\/sup>r the course of more than 80 years of history, this bunker endured the troubled twent<\/sup>ieth century and its world wars unscathed, remaining active until the 1990s, when it was used as a <\/sup>military outpost during the Cold War.<\/sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, thanks to the work of the Pro-Historia Association, led by museum curator Curt Covi, it is possible to admire this site restored to its <\/sup>former glory, <\/sup>showcased in a museum itinerary that retraces its key milestones. Given its significance for local communities and the South Tyrole<\/sup>an region, GRUBER Logistics offered to sponsor the transport of the tank which, until 1993, formed an integral part of the b<\/sup>unker’s original weaponry and has now finally retur<\/sup>ned to its original site. The tank was transported by road from Piacenza to Dobbiaco and, given its massive dimensions, required the deployment of a Grube<\/sup>r vehicle dedicated to exceptional transport.<\/sup><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
