{"id":7204,"date":"2019-01-21T12:53:00","date_gmt":"2019-01-21T12:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.gruber-logistics.dev\/2019\/01\/21\/brenner-base-tunnel\/"},"modified":"2019-01-21T12:53:00","modified_gmt":"2019-01-21T12:53:00","slug":"brenner-base-tunnel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gruber-logistics.com\/en\/2019\/01\/21\/brenner-base-tunnel\/","title":{"rendered":"Exceptional transports continue for the Brenner Base Tunnel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Work continues for the South Tyrolean company GRUBER Logistics on the transport and assembly of Flavia and Virginia, the two tunnel boring machines that will be used for the excavation of the Brenner Base Tunnel connecting Austria and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a major project for the company, as the tunnel is destined to become the longest underground railway connection in the world, with significant benefits for mobility and logistics in the surrounding area.<sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exceptional transport of the machine components already began in recent months and has r<sup><\/sup>equired the joint effort of several branches and departments of the GRUBER Logistics group due to their massive wei<sup><\/sup>ght and dimensions.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, there are about 160 transports for each machine, f<sup><\/sup>or a total of 2,887 tons transported. This is a major project for the company, as the tunnel is destined to become the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":3361,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[42],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7204","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":{"image-2":3362,"image-2_copy":null,"titolo_paragrafo_1":"","titolo_paragrafo_2":"","image-3":"","testo-2":"<p data-path-to-node=\"4\"><span class=\"citation-728 citation-729 citation-end-729\">Once arrived at the construction site in <\/span><span class=\"citation-728 citation-end-728\">Mules, the transport of the various components into the tunnel for assembly began.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\"><span class=\"citation-727 citation-end-727\">To<\/span> date, GRUBER Logistics has carried out the transfer of around 20 components for each boring machine, and work will continue uninterrupted until the end of March.<\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">The transfer inside the tunnel of the main bearing, the hydraulic component that will allow the cutterhead of the TBM to move and excavate the rock, was completed last week.<\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">This component, measuring 7090x6850x2600 mm and weighing 146 tons, <span class=\"citation-726 citation-end-726\">is so far the heaviest part transported. The transport and assembly of the identical bearing belonging to the second twin machine will be completed in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\"><span class=\"citation-725 citation-end-725\">Only when all<\/span> the components have been transported into the tunnel and properly assembled will the TBMs be able to start excavating.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"source-inline-chip-container luminous-sources ng-star-inserted\"><\/div>","video":null},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
