Gruber Logistics chooses quality fuel from Delta Energy

Renowned logistics company Gruber Logistics has been successfully collaborating for over a year with fuel producer Delta Energy. This ambitious partnership aims to achieve two primary goals: reducing road freight transport emissions and using high-quality, eco-friendly fuels. By reducing emissions by up to 95% with HVO and up to 70% with Bio-LNG, Gruber Logistics, in collaboration with Delta Energy, significantly improved its carbon footprint in 2024. Delta Energy’s fuels, primarily used in Northern Italy, are certified in terms of production and supply chains, meeting Gruber Logistics’ strict sustainability standards.

Like Gruber Logistics, Delta Energy is based in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Thanks to the fuel producer’s network of filling stations and the logistics company’s strength in Northern Italy and along the Brenner corridor, supply and demand align perfectly. More than 80% of Gruber Logistics’ Bio-LNG consumption and almost all of its HVO refueling comes from Delta Energy.

“The emission savings achieved with HVO and Bio-LNG fuels compared to conventional diesel are remarkable. However, it is essential that these fuels are not produced at the expense of agricultural land conversion, deforestation, or monocultures, which are counterproductive practices. That is why we actively work against such developments,” emphasizes Stefan Knapp, Executive Director Fleet at Gruber Logistics. “For this reason, we prioritize sustainable procurement logistics. In our partnership with Delta Energy, certified standards ensure resource-efficient fuel production and delivery.”

Mirco Conte, President of Delta Energy, highlights the successful collaboration: “We are proud to be part of the Gruber Logistics world, helping to make logistics greener. Since 2023, Delta Energy has been a pioneer in the field of alternative fuels—starting with LNG, evolving to Bio-LNG, and subsequently including HVO. The partnership between two key players from the same region, both committed to sustainable solutions, has created a synergy that significantly reduces emissions thanks to certified products.”

Under the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED), which promotes the expansion of renewable energy sources, strict quality standards apply to alternative fuels. These are vital steps on Europe’s path toward climate neutrality. “The RED II regulations provide clear guidelines for the procurement of alternative fuels, enabling us to assess their sustainability and quality. Delta Energy meets these requirements, supporting Gruber Logistics’ overall strategy for greener road freight transport,” explains Ettore Gualandi, Team Leader Sustainability & Eco-Innovation at Gruber Logistics.
