IVECO and GRUBER Logistics together for increasingly sustainable mobility

The IVECO brand and the South Tyrolean company sign an agreement for the supply of 100 liquefied natural gas-powered vehicles: a confirmation that combines performance and sustainability.

Turin, 25 February 2021

IVECO has signed an agreement for the supply of 100 IVECO S-Way LNG to the South Tyrolean company GRUBER Logistics, one of the most innovative and successful logistics players in Europe, through its local reference dealership, Gasser Srl of Bolzano. The delivery of the 100 vehicles is planned — in several batches — by the end of the year.

The decision by GRUBER Logistics to convert part of its fleet to alternative fuels is driven by a strong commitment to environmental issues and reflects the desire to make a tangible contribution towards achieving the goals set by the European Union in this area. Moreover, the geographical area hosting the company’s historic headquarters is at the centre of an intense debate on the environment, which has led the Tyrolean Parliament to adopt major measures aimed at limiting the polluting impact of heavy goods vehicles along the Brenner Pass route.

With this in mind, the IVECO S-Way LNG vehicles were the natural choice for the customer, which found in the IVECO heavy-duty trucks the sustainability — both environmental and economic — it needed, without compromising on high performance. The vehicle is indeed powered by technology designed to deliver a significant reduction in fuel consumption and polluting emissions — with 90% less $\text{NO}_2$, 95% less PM and, when biomethane is used, 95% less $\text{CO}_2$ compared to equivalent diesel versions.

“Our goal is to build Europe’s leading fleet for sustainable transport by leveraging existing technologies and supporting innovation processes so that new zero-emission technologies can soon reach the market. Digitalisation and sustainability, also in its social sense, are core pillars of our corporate development plan.”

— Martin Gruber, Group CEO

Once again, we appreciate their forward-thinking approach, a quality that over the years has consistently guided the company’s investments, shaping it into the innovative enterprise it is today. At IVECO, we are honoured to be able to contribute to the Group’s ambitious sustainable growth targets with a product that combines cutting-edge technology, performance, and environmental care.”

— Carmelo Impelluso, IVECO Brand Europe Director

“The agreement with Gruber Logistics once again places our Brand at the forefront of sustainable mobility. This is an agreement that makes us particularly proud, both for the consolidated relationship that links us to this major international group, and for the focus that Gruber places on green issues, fully in line with IVECO’s goals.”

— Mihai Daderlat, Business Director IVECO Italy Market
