GRUBER Logistics closes 2018 with a turnover of 344 million euros
Managing logistics in the heart of the Alps is no easy task, but GRUBER Logistics has succeeded in the challenge. From 1936, the year of its foundation, to the present day, the company has grown steadily, increasing its turnover year after year despite massive investments. 2018, in line with the trend of recent years, also marked a further increase in business volume for the company, which closed the year with a consolidated turnover of 344 million euros (+8.7% compared to the previous year).
Even in these times of economic downturn, GRUBER Logistics chose to invest in personnel, growing in just under two years from 650 to 980 employees. The company is constantly looking for new team members: sought-after profiles include specialized operators, as well as recent high school and university graduates with foreign language skills and excellent organizational abilities.
“At the core of our work is the bond of trust that unites us, just like a big family. I believe that a large part of our success stems from this: knowing that our employees, clients, and partners place their trust in us motivates us day after day,” states Martin Gruber, CEO of the Group. Employees represent another key pillar underpinning the success of GRUBER Logistics. “We are convinced that the company’s future is inseparable from the success of our employees as individuals and professionals. For this reason, we offer them all the space they need to grow and support them, step by step, with continuous training so that they can develop alongside the company,” concludes Martin Gruber.

Driven by the desire to innovate and enhance partnerships with its customers, GRUBER Logistics has launched a major digitalization project known as “Gruber Beyond”. Through this project, the company aims to streamline processes related to transport management, embracing a development strategy based on transparency of performance and customer-supplier interchange processes. The result of the project was the launch of two digital products developed in-house: the Gruber Beyond MyDesk portal for managing and tracking shipments, and the Gruber Beyond DriverApp, which enables real-time monitoring of driver activities and immediate exchange of information with the company. “We feel a strong responsibility towards future generations. For this reason, we are committed to investing in environmental sustainability,” continues Martin Gruber – “Our fleet, which currently numbers around 800 units, comprises only EURO 6 vehicles with an average age of two years, complemented by LNG tractor units powered by liquefied natural gas, for a significant reduction in carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions. In addition, for more than 30 years we have embraced the challenge of combined road-rail transport, a more sustainable mode of transport on which we have recently staked our commitment once again with the opening of an additional connection between Kreuztal, Germany, and Verona, in Northern Italy.”
