United for a Good Cause

Summer brings cycling to the forefront and, recognizing the importance of promoting safety for young cyclists, heavy haulage specialists Universal Transport (Paderborn) and Spedition Kübler (Schwäbisch Hall) are actively supporting the “relief campaign for children involved in accidents” with a unique initiative. In a collaborative effort, the two companies jointly contributed a donation of 1,500 euros to improve protection for young cyclists. As part of a joint project, both companies agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds to a charitable cause.

The “Aktion Kinder-Unfallhilfe” association is an initiative of the road transport industry dedicated to helping young accident victims and promoting various road safety projects. One of its noteworthy initiatives is the creation and distribution of its own bicycle helmet, available in three sizes (48-54, 54-58, and 58-61 cm head circumference). The goal of the targeted distribution of this high-quality product is to help increase helmet usage.

The association focuses its efforts on the youngest road users and is funded entirely through donations.

Kinder-Unfallhilfe

“This donation aims to help make road traffic safer for our children. With our commitment, we, as a specialized transport company, also want to emphasize that there is at least one other victim in accidents: our drivers, for whom road safety will be improved.”

— Holger Dechant, Managing Director of Universal Transport.

“Children and young people are all too often the victims. Because behind every accident lies a human fate, prevention must start here to help reduce these numbers.”

— Heinz Rößler, Owner of Spedition Kübler.

Statistics show that every 15 minutes a child is involved in a road traffic accident, whether as a pedestrian, car passenger, or cyclist.

The donation will be used to purchase bicycle helmets featuring a red knight on both sides, which depicts a prevention award presented every two years by the campaign to recognize exemplary initiatives for accident prevention among children and young people. The award-winning initiatives cover a range of areas, from road safety education projects to concepts for safe school routes and identifying accident-prone areas in communities.

The association expressed its gratitude for the donation.

“For decades, the commercial transport and logistics industry has demonstrated responsibility through Kinder-Unfallhilfe.”

— Adalbert Wandt, Chairman of the association.
