Auer / Bolzano – Since the end of the first half of 2026, Gruber Logistics has been transporting component parts between Auer and Bolzano for Alpitronic, Europe’s leading manufacturer of fast-charging infrastructure for electric mobility, as part of production logistics operations. The renowned logistics service provider is therefore contributing to the construction of EV charging stations that enable more sustainable road freight transport. As part of this project, a shuttle service has been operating several times a day since spring between the warehouse in Auer and Alpitronic’s production facility in Bolzano. The long-term transport contract is carried out with a Scania truck – one of the electric trucks that the South Tyrolean transport company uses from its own fleet to ensure resource-efficient production supply.
“Our long-standing cooperation with Alpitronic continues to develop steadily. We have installed our own charging stations using Alpitronic technology and, within the framework of the European FLEXMCS project, we are jointly working on the development of megawatt charging infrastructure. The deployment of our Scania electric truck for Alpitronic once again highlights the strong partnership between our two South Tyrolean companies,” explains Martin Gruber, CEO of Gruber Logistics, outlining the latest logistics project between the two companies in Northern Italy.
Philipp Senoner, CEO of Alpitronic, adds from the perspective of the production facility supplied in western Bolzano: “Gruber Logistics delivers components to our production site in Bolzano several times a day using an electrically powered truck. At the same time, we are equipping Gruber Logistics’ locations with the appropriate charging infrastructure. This turns a reliable cooperation into a partnership that is making a tangible contribution to advancing electric mobility in logistics and helping to reduce emissions.”
The vehicle deployed on the approximately 20-kilometre route between Auer and Bolzano is a Scania P230 B6x2*4NB, which can be charged from zero to 80 percent of its available total capacity in 100 minutes. With a total capacity of 26 tonnes and an approximate curb weight of 12.5 tonnes, the electric truck offers ample space for supplying production at the Alpitronic plant.
Alpitronic’s fast-charging stations are also used at Gruber Logistics locations in Germany, for example in Staufenberg and Cologne. In the FLEXMCS (Flexible Megawatt Charging Systems) project, which is being implemented under the banner of the European Union and in which Gruber Logistics and Alpitronic are participating, the partners are driving the industry-wide development and implementation of innovative megawatt charging stations for both heavy and light electric vehicles.
