THE “CEF” PROGRAMME AND THE PARTICIPATION OF GRUBER LOGISTICS IN THE “CONNECTING EUROPE DAYS”

At the forefront of Europe’s strategic infrastructure investments is the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), a key programme dedicated to driving growth, fostering job creation, and bolstering competitiveness across the continent. With its threefold focus on CEF Energy, CEF Transport, and CEF Digital, the initiative reflects a strong commitment to strengthening Europe’s connectivity and resilience.

Under CEF Transport, a significant budget of EUR 25.81 billion has been allocated for the 2021-2027 period, complemented by EUR 11.29 billion earmarked for countries eligible for support from the Cohesion Fund. A particular focus is placed on enhancing military mobility, with EUR 1.69 billion allocated to ensure the dual-use adaptability of infrastructure for both civilian and military purposes.

In line with the overarching goals of the EU Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy, CEF Transport prioritises the development of the core and comprehensive networks of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

Connecting Europe Days and the Role of Gruber Logistics

Against this backdrop, the Connecting Europe Days took place (from 2 to 5 April), a key forum attended by over 2,500 participants from EU Member States and neighbouring countries. The event fostered vital discussions on:

  • Introduction of new European Transport Corridors

  • Climate resilience of infrastructure

  • Connectivity with neighbouring regions

  • Funding opportunities and tools for strategic investments

The participation of Gruber Logistics in the Connecting Europe Days highlights the essential role of private sector engagement in shaping the European transport landscape. As one of only two logistics companies in Europe to receive an invitation as a speaker, Gruber Logistics brought highly valuable perspectives and expertise, enriching dialogues on innovation, development, and infrastructure sustainability.

As Europe navigates the complexities of contemporary mobility and transport challenges, initiatives like the Connecting Europe Facility exemplify the continent’s steadfast commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and progress in infrastructure development.
