International job rotation: interview with Jasmine Rouimi

International job rotation is a great opportunity for your career: read the interview with Jasmine Rouimi

Dear Jasmine, you are moving to Vienna for GRUBER Logistics! What happened?

When I started working here in Ora in the Full Truck Load Division last year, I immediately expressed my wish to go abroad for an extended period. This year, colleagues from the FTL Business Unit and Human Resources contacted me to ask if I would like to relocate to Vienna indefinitely.

What do you expect from this relocation?

I hope to grow on a personal level, but also to take on new professional challenges: Ora is a very large branch, with 80 employees, plus another 80 colleagues at headquarters. In Vienna, there will be five of us, including two interns. There will certainly be many tasks for me that are handled by someone else here in Ora.

One thing I will definitely miss is the environment here in Ora: the many diverse people who work here and with whom I can always exchange ideas.

You have actually been part of our company for quite a while, haven’t you?

Yes, in fact, I completed a summer internship in the HR department in 2016, while I was still in high school. Then, for a year, I assisted the HR team for a few hours a week while continuing my studies. When I graduated in 2021, Verena von Dellemann contacted me immediately. I was really happy to return and made a conscious decision to start in the Full Truck Load department.

What prompted you to choose the transport and logistics industry?

I actually grew up around it: my dad is a truck driver. The internship here at GRUBER Logistics was more of a coincidence, but when I started working here in 2021, it was a fully conscious decision toward the transport sector. And since I wanted to learn the trade from the ground up, starting in an operational department was the only right way for me.

In your opinion, what makes working in an operations department special?

I like the variety of different tasks, and you never get bored: no matter how well you plan, at the end of the day an issue always arises—and you have to solve it yourself, no one else will do it for you. In addition, you are in touch with other people all day long and constantly switching between languages.

Why would you recommend working at GRUBER Logistics?

Because, professionally speaking, it offers so many different opportunities to grow and learn. On top of that, GRUBER Logistics is a place full of friendly, interesting people who make work enjoyable and fun!

One last question: where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I hope to still be at GRUBER Logistics, but leading my own team and based in Ora. I hope that by then I will be able to look back on 10 exciting years in which I learned a lot and grew both as a professional and as a person.
