June is all about the rainbow. Because behind the bright colours lies a serious background: the protest against the discrimination against LGBTQ+ people that still prevails in many places. We at Gruber Logistics would like to contribute to taking a clear position, emphasising our open and welcoming corporate culture and respecting and celebrating differences between people.

Supporting the Bolzano initiative

The province of South Tyrol, where the Gruber Logistics headquarters are located, is part of the RE.A.DY Network of Autonomous Provinces and Regions, “which is committed to preventing, combating and overcoming discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and to safeguarding the human rights of LGBTQ+ people as recognized by the Constitution, European regulations and international law.”

Gruber Logistics supports this initiative together with other partners from the region. Part of this support is the distribution of the international symbol of the rainbow flag, because with its bright colours it is a symbol of diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.

Why June actually?

Anyone wondering why June is actually considered Pride Month needs to take a look at history. The origins lie in the Stonewall riots in New York in June 1969. Back then, on 28 June 1969 to be precise, the New York police cleared a gay bar and the guests at the “Stonewall Inn” on Christopher Street fought back. To commemorate this event and to bring this protest to the world today, June is Pride Month.
