Auer/Paderborn – GRUBER Logistics Germany has successfully completed the comprehensive transformation of the former Universal Transport Group. In the first half of 2026, the company achieved the best operating result in its history, underscoring the effectiveness of the integration and restructuring measures implemented over the past several years. The company is now focused on sustainable, profitable growth in its strategic core markets while further strengthening its integration into the international GRUBER Logistics network.
Since its acquisition by GRUBER Logistics in September 2022, the former Universal Transport Group has undergone a transformation shaped by its integration into the international transport and logistics group, the resolution of acquisition-related legacy issues, and the need to adapt to a challenging economic environment. In particular, weak performance in certain segments of the manufacturing industry created both operational and financial challenges for the business.
Over the past four years, the former Universal Transport locations have been gradually integrated into the structures of GRUBER Logistics. At the same time, clear management responsibilities, modern leadership structures, and data-driven performance management processes were consistently implemented to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and operational excellence. By sharpening its focus on its core business—including the divestment of its tire and caravan retail operations—the company was able to free up additional resources for its strategic business areas.
The success of these measures is clearly reflected in the company’s financial performance. Excluding one-off effects related to the acquisition and restructuring, the former Universal Transport Group generated revenue of €90 million in the first half of 2026. This significantly exceeded the previous record of €75 million achieved in the corresponding period of 2022, the year of the acquisition. At the same time, the company’s operating margin (EBIT) doubled to 4 percent compared with the first half of 2022. The former Universal Transport Group is therefore on track to achieve the most successful financial year in its history.

A key success factor was the strong commitment of the company’s employees. They actively supported the transformation process while ensuring the business maintained its high level of operational performance throughout the transition. At the same time, collaboration between the various locations and companies within the Group has been significantly strengthened.
With the transformation phase now complete, GRUBER Logistics Germany is focusing on the next stage of its development. Over the next two years, the company will pursue three strategic priorities: expanding its market position in the energy, wind power, construction and precast concrete industries, infrastructure, and public sector markets; completing its full integration into the international operations of the GRUBER Logistics Group; and driving controlled, sustainable expansion in selected markets.
Closer integration into the international network creates additional growth opportunities and further strengthens the company’s competitiveness in its strategic target markets. GRUBER Logistics Germany is therefore well positioned to continue its successful growth trajectory.
